Getting out of social, political, religious and cultural conditioning, from the beliefs that we believe to be ours and that instead have entered us from the outside can be very difficult. Your mind can be totally unconditioned and can become a clean slate, a clean slate from which all information has been erased. Once the old patterns are cleared you are free to be yourself.
