Lack-Hell

Lack-Hell

Drama, by Stefano Odoardi, Italy, 2014.
An Angel, inspired by R.M.Rilke's Duino Elegies, wanders through the ruins of a contemporary Hell, in a silent and abandoned city, in which a group of the damned (20 inhabitants of L'Aquila) are imprisoned. Each of them will share their thoughts and despair which, from individual frustrations, will become universal. 'Lack-Inferno' is a poignant and metaphorical journey that catapults the viewer into a reality that always remains current: that of a humanity that survives on the rubble of destructive events.

Stefano Odoardi returns to speak in a highly allegorical way about topics as delicate as they are profound; this time his attention is focused on the tragedy that struck his region in 2009, namely the earthquake in L'Aquila. In 'Mancanza-Inferno', however, the catastrophe is not told but only taken up for what it left behind, on the places and on the people, all with a brilliant, decisive and completely personal style, which makes "Mancanza-Inferno" a 'work of extraordinary value, especially when considered within the Italian panorama. A journey inside the rubble of every human being.
