War Movies

War Movies

War movies from independent, auteur and international cinema. This collection looks at war less as spectacle and more as human experience: the soldiers and the civilians, the front line and the home, the days of fighting and the long years after. It spans the two world wars, the conflicts that followed and the wars that rarely reach the headlines, with dramas, anti-war films and documentaries that choose intimacy over heroics. Many of these war films come from countries where the conflict was lived directly, and they carry a perspective that the large productions seldom offer: stories of fear, loss, survival and conscience, told with honesty and without comfort.
